AirTag 2: Enhanced Precision Finding
Apple is gearing up to release the AirTag 2, featuring a significant upgrade to its Precision Finding capabilities. A new ultrawide band chip, the same as in the iPhone 15, will enable tracking from up to three times the distance of the current model.
Extended Range
The original AirTag, released in 2021, has a Precision Finding range of approximately 10-30 meters. The AirTag 2 is expected to extend this to 30-90 meters, a substantial improvement for locating lost items. Beyond this range, users can still see an approximate location on a map or trigger a chime.
Current AirTag Deals
While awaiting the AirTag 2, deals are available for the current model. Individual AirTags can be purchased for $24, while a 4-pack is priced at $72.99, effectively $18 per AirTag.
