HomeKit Support for Robot Vacuums Delayed to 2025
Apple has officially delayed HomeKit integration for robot vacuums to early 2025. Originally announced at WWDC 2024 as part of iOS 18 and expected later this year, the feature has been quietly pushed back.
The updated timeline was spotted by 9to5Mac on Apple's Home app webpage. This integration will enable users to control compatible robot vacuums through the Home app, Siri voice commands (initially limited to U.S. English), and HomeKit automations.
This delay affects both users and manufacturers like Roborock, who had already planned to incorporate HomeKit into their products. Other manufacturers may also need to revise their roadmaps.
