Apple Intelligence Now Requires 7GB of Storage

Apple Intelligence's on-device AI features now require 7GB of free storage on iPhones, iPads, and Macs. This marks a significant increase from the initial 4GB requirement with iOS 18.1. With each device handling its own processing, using Apple Intelligence across all three could consume up to 21GB of storage. There's currently no option to reduce storage usage by disabling specific features.

Why the Increase?

The storage increase is attributed to new AI features introduced in iOS 18.2, such as Genmoji, ChatGPT integration with Siri, Image Playground, Visual Intelligence, and Compose with ChatGPT. Future updates, especially iOS 18.4's Siri enhancements, are expected to further increase storage demands, potentially reaching 10GB per device. Looking Ahead

The rising storage requirements suggest users may need to consider higher storage tiers for future Apple device purchases. This demand for storage is likely to continue growing with the addition of more AI features.
