iOS 18/iPadOS 18 and macOS 15 Sequoia introduce a Recently Deleted list in the Reminders app, similar to Notes and Photos. This feature addresses the previous issue of permanent reminder deletion upon quitting the app or restarting the device.
Deleting and Recovering Items
When deleting a reminder, a prompt informs users about the Recently Deleted list, where items are temporarily stored for 30 days. Recovering items differs slightly between macOS and iOS/iPadOS.
On macOS, single items can be restored to their original location via the More (...) icon or by clicking the completed circle. Multiple items can be moved to a chosen list via Control-click/right-click and selecting "Move To."
On iOS/iPadOS, single items cannot be restored to their original location. Users can move items to a destination list via touch and hold or by selecting multiple items through the More (...) icon and choosing "Move."
Permanently Deleting Items
Items in the Recently Deleted list can be permanently removed by choosing "Delete" or by selecting "Delete All" within the list options. Sharing AirTag locations has also seen improvements in iOS 18.2.
