Apple TV+ Ranks Seventh Among Streaming Services for Apple Users

A recent Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) survey reveals Apple TV+ is the seventh most popular streaming service among Apple device owners, with a 32% subscription rate. This places Apple TV+ in the bottom tier alongside Peacock and Paramount+, both at 35%.

Netflix leads with 76% of Apple customers subscribing, followed by Hulu (61%) and Amazon Prime Video (60%). Disney+ holds the fourth spot at 48%. HBO Max trails behind with 26%.

Despite being integrated into the Apple ecosystem, Apple TV+ struggles to match the market penetration of its competitors. This suggests that brand loyalty doesn't automatically translate to streaming service adoption. For more on Apple's services strategy, see Apple's Health Focus: Wearables are the Future.

The survey, conducted over the twelve months ending September 2024, highlights that Apple TV+ and Amazon Prime Video are unique. Their parent companies' core businesses are outside the entertainment industry. This contrasts with dedicated entertainment providers like Netflix and Disney+. This data underscores the challenges Apple faces in the competitive streaming landscape. While Apple has a loyal customer base, attracting them to its streaming platform remains a hurdle. For related news on Apple, see 9to5Mac Daily: iPhone 17 ProMotion, EU Sales Changes, and iOS 2025.
