Add Your Digital ID to Apple Wallet
Apple Wallet now supports digital state IDs and driver's licenses, offering a secure and private alternative to physical cards. This feature uses NFC and requires Face ID or Touch ID for access to personal information, enhancing security and privacy.
How to Add Your ID
- Open Wallet.
- Tap the "Add" (+) button.
- Select "Driver’s License or State ID" and choose your state.
- Follow the on-screen instructions, including taking photos of your ID and yourself.
Supported States and Territories
Currently, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Maryland, New Mexico, Ohio, and Puerto Rico support digital IDs. Connecticut, Kentucky, Mississippi, Montana, Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia, and West Virginia plan to offer support in the future.
Where to Use Your Digital ID
While not yet accepted by law enforcement, digital IDs are accepted at some TSA checkpoints and age-restricted venues. They can also be used for age verification in apps.
