Apple's original film Fly Me to the Moon, starring Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum, will begin streaming on Apple TV+ on December 6th. The film underperformed theatrically, grossing only $42 million worldwide.

The rom-com, set in the 1960s, follows marketing executive Kelly Jones (Johansson) as she attempts to improve NASA's public image by staging a fake moon landing in case the Apollo mission fails. Tatum plays Cole Davis, the Apollo 11 flight director.

Despite a lukewarm critical reception, the film was generally well-received by audiences. Its December 6th release positions it as Apple's major holiday film offering.

This announcement coincides with the premiere of Apple's World War II feature Blitz and the documentary Bread & Roses. For more information on Apple's film offerings, check out Best Samsung Phones Under $500.

This shift in release strategy comes after Apple's move away from its previous theatrical approach. To stay updated on Apple and other tech giants, see Samsung and OpenAI: A Potential AI Partnership for Galaxy Devices.
