Google Cancels Pixel Tablet Sequel with Notable Upgrades
Google has reportedly canceled the upcoming "Pixel Tablet 2," codenamed "kiyomi." While disappointing, reports reveal the device had several promising upgrades planned.
Display and Performance
- The sequel would have featured a 120Hz LCD panel, a significant improvement over the original Pixel Tablet's 60Hz display. It also would have been about 10% brighter.
- Powered by the Tensor G4 chip, the tablet would have also included 5G connectivity.
- A slightly larger 7,200 mAh battery was also in the works.
Camera and Connectivity
- The front and rear cameras were planned to use a 10/11MP Samsung S5K3K1 sensor. Notably, the front camera would not have supported Face Unlock.
- The tablet would have supported Thread and offered DisplayPort output up to 4K resolution, enhancing its potential as a productivity device.
