Pixel Battery Health Feature Coming Soon

Key Features:

  • A new "Battery health" page will be available in settings, providing insights into battery status and tips for extending battery life.
  • The page will show "Battery capacity," an estimated percentage of charge compared to a new battery.
  • A recalibration process, taking a few weeks, will improve battery measurements and update the capacity.
  • Tips include enabling adaptive charging, avoiding extreme temperatures, turning off unused features, and updating software.

Development Progress:

Google has been working on this feature since October 2022, with continued development in Android 16 Beta 2. The feature was previously enabled in Android 13 QPR1. The latest version of Settings Services (1.1.0.717462792) contains updated strings related to the Battery Health page. Potential Impact:

Reduced battery capacity may lead to shorter battery life between charges. The recalibration process aims to address this. The feature's official launch with Android 16 is yet to be confirmed.
