The Pixel Camera app version 9.6, initially released in mid-October, is now more widely accessible through the Google Play Store. This update, part of the October Feature Drop, brings several enhancements for Pixel users.
New Features in Pixel Camera 9.6
- Pixel 6-8a: A new 5-second timer option is added for capturing photos, along with easier access to Astrophotography mode directly from the Night Sight tab. Users can simply tap the bottom-right corner and slide to Astro.
- Pixel 9 series: Introduces "Underwater photography and video" mode in Settings > Advanced. This feature, compatible with waterproof cases, restores true colors in underwater shots and displays an "Underwater" indicator in the viewfinder. Note: This is not available on the Pixel Fold.
- All Supported Pixels: The redesigned Panorama mode now supports vertical orientation capture, offering greater flexibility.
This wider rollout ensures that Pixel users on versions 9.4 (Pixel 6-8a) or 9.5 (Pixel 9 series) can now benefit from these camera improvements.
