Pixel Screenshots App Gets Major Update with Gboard Integration

The Pixel Screenshots app is receiving a significant update, featuring deeper integration with Gboard and several UI enhancements. While the key feature, suggesting content from screenshots in other apps, is not yet active, the groundwork has been laid in the latest version (0.24.433.15) available on Google Play.

New Features and Improvements

  • Gboard Integration (Coming Soon): This feature will provide suggestions based on text within screenshots when searching in relevant apps, covering movies, music, products, and more. This will streamline searching for information captured in screenshots.
  • UI Tweaks: The details page has been redesigned, moving Share, Edit, and Reminder buttons to the top right. Deep links and search options are now displayed below the image.
  • Circle to Search Integration: Users can now select a specific area of a screenshot to save and search, offering more precise control over image content.
  • Auto-Filters: A carousel of filters (Articles, Events, Flight info, etc.) is now available above the screenshot grid, allowing users to quickly categorize and find specific captures. These filters also appear during searches.

These updates enhance the Pixel Screenshots app, making it a more powerful tool for managing and utilizing captured images.
