Polestar 2 Adds Wired Android Auto

The Polestar 2 now supports wired Android Auto, alongside its built-in Android Automotive OS. This highly requested feature lets drivers project their phone's interface onto the car's infotainment system for seamless hands-free operation. Learn more about Android development here.

Connecting a phone via USB automatically launches Android Auto, though this can be disabled in settings. Users can switch back to the native system anytime. Wired Android Auto offers a simple setup and quick access to personal accounts. This update applies to Polestar 2 models from 2021 onwards, available via OTA updates or service appointments. This addition complements existing features like the redesigned music player in Android Auto and Material You accents in the 13.4 update. However, recent Pixel updates have caused audio issues for some Android Auto users. For more car tech news, see Rivian's integration of entertainment apps.
