PSN Back Online After 24-Hour Outage

The PlayStation Network (PSN) is back online after a 24-hour global outage, affecting PS4 and PS5 users. Sony apologized for the disruption but didn't disclose the cause. The outage, lasting from February 7th to 8th, prevented access to online services.

Monster Hunter Wilds Beta Extension

The outage impacted the Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Test 2. Capcom is considering a 24-hour extension to compensate players. This will give affected players another chance to experience the beta.

5 Free Days of PlayStation Plus

Sony is offering five free days of PlayStation Plus to all current subscribers to compensate for the outage. The extra days will be applied automatically. However, non-subscribers will not receive compensation.

Preventing Future Outages

While the issue is resolved, Sony hasn't explained the cause or how they'll prevent future occurrences. This outage was the second largest in PSN history, following the 2011 24-day outage caused by a hack. Users are requesting more transparency and preventative measures from Sony.
