Holiday iPhone Sales Surge at Retail Stores

Physical retail stores dominated iPhone sales during the 2023 holiday season, capturing 69% of total sales, a significant increase from 64% in the earlier part of the year. This contrasts with online sales, which dipped to 31% during the same period. Apple's retail presence continues to be a key sales driver.

Mobile carrier stores, responsible for approximately 75% of iPhone sales, also experienced a surge in in-person purchases during the holidays. Interestingly, Apple's direct retail channel, representing under 20% of US iPhone sales, saw a rise in online sales, likely due to customers customizing new iPhone models released in September. This trend aligns with Apple's overall product strategy.

While shopping habits evolve, blending online and in-store experiences, physical stores remain the preferred choice for iPhone purchases. This preference might be influenced by factors such as immediate availability and hands-on experience, unlike online purchases.
