Samsung Foldables Face Uncertain Future in 2025
Samsung's foldable phone sales have slumped, leading to predictions of minimal changes for the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. Despite the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 being well-received, they struggled against the competition. Sales figures reveal that combined sales for both models haven't reached 5 million units, a 6% drop compared to their predecessors. However, the Fold 6 performed slightly better than the Fold 5.
According to industry insiders, Samsung plans to focus on increasing production of the Galaxy S25 series while holding back on major foldable innovations. Reportedly, significant changes are reserved for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8 in 2026, potentially in response to competition from Chinese manufacturers and Apple's anticipated entry into the foldable market.
