Sony Cameras Gain Direct Cloud Upload to Lightroom and Google Drive
Streamlined Workflow for Creators
Sony has introduced a new feature in its Creators' app, enabling direct image and video uploads to Adobe Lightroom and Google Drive from select cameras. This enhancement simplifies the workflow for creators, eliminating the need for computer tethering to transfer files.
Supported Cameras
Compatible models include the FX3, FX30, α1 II, α1, α9 III, α7R V, α7S III, α7 IV, α7CR, α7C II, α6700, ZV-E1, ZV-E10 II, ZV-1 II, ZV-1F, and ILX-LR1. Note that older Sony cameras are not compatible with this feature as they are designed for the older Sony Edge app.

Google Drive Integration
While Lightroom integration is widely available, Google Drive compatibility is limited to specific camera models. This new feature aligns with recent Google Drive updates, such as faster sync with differential uploads and enhanced document scanning on Android. It also complements features like Gemini's ability to summarize entire folders within Google Drive. For more on Google's AI initiatives, check out US Law Targets DeepSeek and Chinese AI.
