Fitbit Revamps Water Logging on Android with Modern Design
New Water Page Layout
Fitbit has updated its water logging feature on Android, following a redesign of the Weight stats page in November. The new Water page features four tabs: Day, Week, Month, and Year, replacing the previous reverse-chronological list and chart views.
Quick Add Removed, Logging Options Remain
The "Quick Add For Today" button has been removed from the main Water page. Users can now log their water intake using the main floating action button (FAB) menu or the app shortcut. This change might require an extra step for users accustomed to logging directly on the Water page.
New Log Water Screen
The redesigned "Log water" screen, accessible via the FAB, offers default increments for Glass (8 fl oz), Bottle (16 fl oz), and Large bottle (24 fl oz) with a plus/minus interface. Users can also enter a custom amount and adjust the date.
Rollout and Future Updates
The Water redesign is currently available to some users with Fitbit app version 4.38, but a server-side component is still being rolled out. Fitbit is also expected to update the Food logging feature and Health Metrics UI in the future. For related updates, check out Google Photos' new 'Undo Backup' feature for Android.
