Motorola is launching its own suite of AI features called "Moto AI." Initially available in beta for the Razr (2024), Razr+ (2024), and Edge 50 Ultra, Moto AI offers three key functions accessible by double-tapping the device's back.

Key Moto AI Features:

  • "Catch me up": Summarizes missed notifications.
  • "Pay attention": Records, transcribes, and summarizes audio.
  • "Remember this": Analyzes photos/screenshots to answer questions.

While the concept is promising, initial demos raise questions about the robustness of these features. For example, "Catch me up" merely repeated individual notifications, and "Remember this" provided generic advice instead of specific information based on a flight itinerary screenshot. Real-world performance remains to be seen. For more on AI advancements, check out OLMo 2, a fully open-source language model family.
