Pentagon Investigates Mysterious Drone Sightings Over Northeast U.S.

The Pentagon has stated that there is no evidence suggesting the drones sighted over the northeastern U.S., including New Jersey, are from a foreign adversary or the U.S. military. This follows a Congressional hearing where lawmakers expressed concern over the lack of information regarding the drone activity.

The FBI, working with local authorities, has received over 3,000 reports of drone sightings but has yet to identify those responsible. A senior FBI official revealed a limited budget of $500,000 for counter-drone activities. The FAA previously banned drone flights in parts of New Jersey due to drones flying over sensitive areas like the Trump National Golf Club Bedminster and the Picatinny Arsenal.

Pentagon press secretary Sabrina Singh confirmed the drones were unlikely to be from a foreign adversary and dismissed claims of an Iranian "mothership" launching drones. The origin and purpose of the drones remain unknown, raising concerns among residents and even interfering with a medevac helicopter operation. Speculation ranges from a secret military program to UAPs (UFOs). The investigation may also reveal some sightings to be drones or small airplanes.
