New 11th-Gen iPad: A16 Bionic Chip, No Apple Intelligence

Apple's latest 11th-generation iPad arrived with a 128GB base storage, up to 512GB in the flagship model. It features the A16 Bionic chip, a significant upgrade from the 10th-gen model's A14. However, it lacks Apple Intelligence support.

No Apple Intelligence on iPad 11

Contrary to rumors, the new iPad doesn't support Apple Intelligence features like Writing Tools, Image Playground, or Genmoji. The A16 Bionic chip, while powerful, lacks the necessary AI capabilities found in the A17 Pro or Apple Silicon.

Apple Intelligence-Compatible iPads

Currently, only iPads with A17 Pro or Apple Silicon running iPadOS 18.1 or later support Apple Intelligence. This includes the iPad Mini (A17 Pro), M1, M2, and M3 iPad Air, and various iPad Pro models (M1 to M4).

A Disappointing Launch?

The lack of AI support makes the 11th-gen iPad an outlier in Apple's current lineup. This omission is surprising, given pre-launch rumors suggesting the inclusion of the A17 Pro chip and AI functionalities.
