Pixel Screenshots Update Integrates with Gboard for Smart Suggestions
The Pixel Screenshots app received an update this week that introduces a handy integration with Gboard. This new feature, called "proactive recall," provides suggestions in Gboard based on the content of your screenshots when you open relevant apps. For example, if you screenshot a movie title, you'll see it as a Gboard suggestion when searching within a streaming app.
This functionality extends to various content types, including music, products, and more. A screenshot of a product listing on the Google Store, for instance, might appear as a suggestion when you open the Amazon app. The feature is designed to work on-device and only within compatible Android apps, not websites. You can also disable this feature in the Pixel Screenshots settings if desired.
Additional Pixel Screenshots Enhancements
Besides Gboard integration, the update also brings improvements to the image viewer, including more search terms and auto-filtering to categorize screenshots. There's also integration with Google Wallet for adding passes and the "Circle to Search" feature for quickly saving specific parts of a screenshot.
