Xiaomi SU7 Ultra: A Track-Focused Electric Sedan
Xiaomi is launching the SU7 Ultra, a high-performance electric sedan designed for the track. The car is currently on display in showrooms across China, with mass production underway and deliveries expected to start in March.
Performance and Design
The SU7 Ultra boasts a triple-motor system generating 1,526 horsepower and 1,770 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under 2 seconds and reach a top speed of 350 km/h. Its aggressive design includes a redesigned front bumper, larger brakes, a distinctive yellow body with “Ultra” stripes, a wider stance, and a prominent rear spoiler. Xiaomi's YU7 is another EV offering with a different design and target market.
Braking and Battery
To manage its high speed, the SU7 Ultra features large carbon ceramic brake discs, enabling a short stopping distance from 100 km/h. It's equipped with a 93.7 kWh Qilin II battery supporting fast charging, providing a range of 620 km (CLTC). This impressive battery technology is also seen in other high-performance EVs like the Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
Pricing and Availability
Priced at RMB 814,900 (€102,100), the SU7 Ultra saw strong pre-order demand. While the standard SU7 is designed for daily use, the Ultra prioritizes track performance. Its direct competitors include the Tesla Model S Plaid, Lucid Air Sapphire, and Zeekr 001 FR. For those interested in other high-performance vehicles, check out the Realme GT 7.
