YouTube Music Now Shares Specific Timestamps

YouTube Music for Android and iOS now allows users to share songs and podcasts starting at a specific timestamp. This feature, already available on the web app, has been rolled out via a server-side update.

Users can share a specific timestamp by tapping the share button. A toggle reading "Start at x:xx" appears in the top right corner, adding the timestamp to the shared URL. This is particularly useful for sharing specific moments in podcasts or longer music recordings.

This update brings cross-platform consistency to YouTube Music. For more information on related updates, check out iOS 18.2: Enhancements Beyond Apple Intelligence.

Key Features

  • Share specific timestamps in songs and podcasts.
  • Available on Android, iOS, and web.
  • Server-side update for mobile apps.

While this update improves functionality, the Android app's share sheet still needs a visual refresh to match the newer design found on iOS and the web. For other recent YouTube Music updates, see YouTube Music tests Now Playing redesign and YouTube Music rolling out 2024 Recap.
